Austin Henry James RANDELL 1899

If your given name is Austin Henry James Randell, the chances are your name is unique. If it's James Randell, it's easy to be confused with others but Austin H J Randell was a one off. Named after his father, his grandfather Henry and his uncle Austin he was the only child born to James Randell and Constance Grace Staines.
Born in Beckenham, Kent, in April 1899 Austin Henry James Randell can not be mistaken. Two years after his birth, he was recorded as a baby in the 1901 census. Austin H J Randell was in the care of his parents and his grandparents Henry and Susannah Staines in the Victoria Building, Beckenham, Kent.
The marriage of Austin Randell and Winifred Nella Paine is registered in the July quarter of 1925 in Ipswich. In the years following the marriage, the couple had two children, both boys, who are alive today. In turn both children have married and produced children, grandchildren and recently great grandchildren.
By the 1930's Austin and Winifred were living in Bristol, which is the location of their descendants today. Austin Randell worked as a Senior Draftsman in the Flight Research Department of Bristol Aircraft but his passion and hobby was making clocks. As both a talented artist, and wood & metal worker he pooled his skills into designing and making his own long and short case clocks.
Austin H J Randell died 2 February 1968, age 69, in the Weston district of Somerset.

Winifred Nella PAINE 1900

Winifred Nella Paine was born 27 June 1900 in St Pancras, Middlesex. In 1901 she was living in Gaisford St, St Pancras, with her parents. She was the daughter of James Thomas Paine and Petranella Jackson who had married in St Pancras, in the April Quarter of 1894.
Winifred's father, James was a self employed Pianoforte Key Maker, which was also the occupation of his father, Thomas Paine.
The uniquely named Petranella was the daughter of Issac and Eliza Jackson. Issac appears to have been born in Norfolk but at the time of her birth was living in 14 Peckwater St, St Pancras and the proprietor of a Hackney cab service.
Winifred married Austin Randell in 1925 and together the couple had two boys, both who are alive today. Both sons married and have families.
Winifred Nella Randell died 26 September 1990, age 90 in the Sodbury district of Gloucestershire.

Austin and Winifred Randell had two children.
